The honors experience includes dedicated communities of intellectually-driven students, professional development events, and forward-thinking, hands-on involvement in the City of Charlotte.


Incoming Freshmen
  • Incoming freshmen can apply to the Honors College in the NinerScholars Portal
    • All applicants will be considered for the University Honors Program in the Honors College, which is open to students with any major. 
    • Additionally, eligible students will be selected from the Honors College applicant pool for the Arts + Architecture Honors Program (only students with a major in the College of Arts + Architecture), or the Business Honors Program (only students with a major in the College of Business). For more information about applying for honors programs, please refer to our Honors Programs website. 
       
Incoming transfer students with fewer than 60 credit hours
  • Incoming transfer students with fewer than 60 credit hours can apply to the Honors College in the NinerScholars Portal
    • All applicants will be considered for the University Honors Program in the Honors College, which is open to students with any major. 
    • Additionally, eligible students will be selected from the Honors College applicant pool for the Arts + Architecture Honors Program (only students with a major in the College of Arts + Architecture), or the Business Honors Program (only students with a major in the College of Business). For more information about applying for honors programs, please refer to our Honors Programs website. 
       
Incoming transfer students with 60 or more credit hours
  • Incoming transfer students with 60 or more credit hours or have four or fewer semesters remaining at UNC Charlotte are eligible to apply for one of the 29 departmental or college honors programs. Each program has different requirements and application processes. Select an honors program on this page to view more information on eligibility and applying for that program.

Students may join multiple honors programs and societies while at UNC Charlotte.
