If you have a question about terrorism, then you might want to ask Dr. Cindy Combs. Dr. Combs is a nationally recognized expert in terrorism and international politics. Her book, "Terrorism in the Twenty-First Century" (Prentice Hall, 4th edition 2005), has been used by law enforcement agencies nationwide, the U.S. Department of State, the military academies, and many colleges and universities. She also is co-author of "Encyclopedia of Terrorism" (Facts-on-File, 2002).

Dr. Combs has been a faculty member at UNC Charlotte since 1989. Combs earned her Ph.D. in political science from George Washington University and master's and bachelor's degrees from Appalachian State University.

Dr. Combs has been recognized with other prestigious honors including the 2005 North Carolina Professor of the Year, the 2000 International Faculty of the Year Award, the 1998 UNC Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 1997 NationsBank (now Bank of America) Award for Teaching Excellence. The students she advises have consistently won awards at international Model United Nations conferences for more than a decade.
