Moore Hall is one of UNC Charlotte's highrises. It's a great place to meet other freshmen!
There are many places on campus that you might end up calling home. You could live in a highrise, suite, building or an apartment. Most freshmen live in either highrises or suites so we've highlighted those options below.
Highrises
Holshouser Hall
This highrise residence hall is set in the trees and offers you and your roommate a great view in a great location!
Holshouser Hall has both single rooms (no roommate) and double rooms (one roommate). A hall bathroom is shared by no more than twelve residents, and a floor lounge is shared by all residents. All rooms in Holshouser are non-smoking. Holshouser has its own Residential Computer Lab. Laundry facilities and a kitchen are available in the basement, and vending machines are available on the first floor.Moore Hall
Living in Moore Hall gives you the opportunity to quickly and easily meet other freshmen. The programs and personal growth opportunities offered are designed to give you a sense of belonging and help your transition into the greater University community. All rooms in Moore are non-smoking. Moore has its own Residential Computer Lab on the first floor. Located right by the front fields, the Residence Dining Hall (RDH), and The 49er Express (a convenience store), it's a great place to spend your first year!
Moore Hall has double rooms (with one roommate). A hall bathroom is shared by twelve residents, and a floor lounge is shared by all residents. Laundry facilities and a kitchen are available in the basement, and vending machines are available on the first floor.Sanford Hall
Sanford Hall is located right by the front fields, the Residence Dining Hall (RDH), and The 49er Express (a convenience store). You don't have to go far to find something to do!
Sanford Hall has all double rooms. A hall bathroom is shared by no more than twelve residents and a floor lounge is shared by all residents. Laundry facilities and a kitchen are available in the basement, and vending is available on the first floor. All rooms in Sanford are non-smoking. Sanford residents have access to the computer lab in Moore Hall.Scott Hall
Scott Hall offers all single rooms. A hall bathroom is shared by no more than six residents and a floor lounge is shared by all residents. Laundry facilities and a kitchen are available in the basement, and vending is available on the first floor.
Scott Hall also houses the 24-hour loan key desk for Moore, Holshouser, Scott, and Sanford Halls as well as for Hunt Village. All rooms in Scott are non-smoking. Scott residents have access to the computer lab in Holshouser Hall. Scott Hall holds the Housing and Residence Life main office.
Suites
Cedar Hall
Just a short walk from the academic section of campus and two dining facilities, Cedar Hall provides a great environment for both working and having a good time.
Suites in Cedar Hall have two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a sitting room. Laundry facilities are available on the first floor; vending machines and community kitchen facilities are available on the third floor.C.F. Lynch Hall
C.F. Lynch Hall houses approximately 500 students and is reserved for new students, most of whom will be enrolled in Learning Communities.
C.F. Lynch Hall is suite-style living with 4 students sharing a bathroom and living room. Most suites have single bedrooms (no roommate) with a limited number available with double bedrooms (with one roommate). There are lounges/study rooms and laundry facilities available on each floor. The first floor features two classrooms, a large community room, a vending area, and a kitchen for all to share.Hawthorn Hall
Hawthorn Hall is located at the edge of campus, but not far from campus life. It's a great place to be for residents who like a little more privacy than most.
Suites in Hawthorn Hall have two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room. Laundry, vending, and kitchen facilities are available in the basement. There is an elevator in the building to make access to upper floors easier for residents.Hickory Hall
Located between Cedar and Sycamore Halls, Hickory Hall provides women with a special neighborhood experience and is located near the greenhouses and Van Landingham Glen.
Suites in Hickory Hall have two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a sitting room. Laundry facilities are available on the first floor, and vending machines and kitchen facilities are available on the third floor.Laurel Hall
Laurel Hall was designed with the help of students, and offers you a great neighborhood experience. Kitchens, for residents of Laurel's suites, and laundry facilities are available on the second through fourth floors (no more hiking up and down the stairs with those dirty clothes!). Vending machines are available on the first floor. Laurel Hall also has lounges and classrooms on each floor, not to mention a great courtyard!
Apartments in Laurel Hall have four private bedrooms, one- and- a- half bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a storage closet. All utilities are included.
Suites in Laurel Hall have either two private bedrooms or four private bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a living area. All utilities are included.Oak Hall
Oak Hall is right on the academic edge of campus and gives students quick access to several dining halls, the Student Activity Center, and academic buildings.
Oak Hall suites have two double bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room. Laundry, vending, and kitchen facilities are located on the first floor.
Oak Hall also houses the 24-hour loan key desk for C.F. Lynch, Cedar, Hickory, Sycamore, Hawthorn, Elm, Maple, Pine, Oak, Witherspoon, and Laurel Halls as well as the Phase III and Martin Village apartments.Sycamore Hall
Sycamore Hall touches the academic edge of campus and is near the Van Landingham Glen and two dining facilities.
Suites in Sycamore Hall have two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a sitting room. Laundry facilities are available on the first floor, and vending and kitchen facilities are available on the third floor.Witherspoon Hall
Witherspoon Hall is the most unique residence hall on campus. With the International House on the second floor and Honors in Residence on the third floor, it's one of the most diverse places you can be (and that means something is always going on)!
Suites in Witherspoon Hall have two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room. A kitchen is available on the second floor, and laundry and vending facilities are available on the first floor. Witherspoon also offers a Residential Computer Lab on the first floor and lounge areas on each floor.
Apartments in Witherspoon Hall have four private bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a storage closet, and a balcony (on the second and third floors). All utilities are included. Laundry and vending facilities are available on the first floor. Witherspoon also offers a Residential Computer Lab on the first floor and lounge areas on each floor.
