The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences advances the discovery, dissemination, and application of knowledge in the traditional areas of liberal arts and sciences and in emerging areas of study.

Students of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences are expected to leave behind the confines of their comfort zones, to embrace unfamiliar concepts and to think critically and creatively. As the foundational and largest college at UNC Charlotte, the college offers eight Ph.D. programs, over 35 master’s programs and graduate certificates, and nearly 35 undergraduate degrees in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics. The college supports interdisciplinary programs at all levels.
