Charlotte at Night

By joining the UNC Charlotte community, you will also become a Charlottean.  With thousands of new residents each year, Charlotte has become a vibrant city that offers entertainment to suite all interests.  While the offerings are too extensive to list, here are a few ways you can explore the city of Charlotte:

  1. On Thursday nights, the dance clubs in Uptown Charlotte open their doors to all college students for College Night.  Dance the night away with your friends!  Enjoy the latest techno music or if you are the nostalgic type, there are clubs in Charlotte dedicated specifically to 70’s and 80’s music.  For more information about the nightly events at each club, check out http://www.creativeloafing.com/
  2. If you are interested in the creative arts, visit our prestigious arts district in Charlotte called NoDa (short for North Davidson Street) where gallery crawls are held on the 1st & 3rd Friday of each month.  The art galleries open their doors and allow visitors to stroll in, free of charge, to view incredible works from local artists.  You can also enjoy one of the many restaurants that offer a wide variety of cuisine. For a list of participants, check out NoDa's Home.
  3. Are you a sports fanatic? If so, we have professional sports teams like the NFL Carolina Panthers and the NBA Charlotte Bobcats to satisfy your sports entertainment needs.  In October 2005, the Charlotte Uptown community welcomed a new venue to the neighborhood, the Charlotte Bobcats Arena.  It features the largest video screen currently in any NBA facility.

There is so much more to discover.  Check out the official site for Charlotte travel to explore all the entertainment possibilities.
